Retreats an Open Door
There are many people who, because of distractions of occupations, family, or other factors in their lives, find it difficult to immerse themselves in the teachings. So each one comes to this place on his own, to meditate, to study the teachings, and to do some physical work if he wishes.
Upcoming Retreats

On self-knowledge
27-29 March, 2026
Self-knowledge is not according to any formula. You may go to a psychologist or a psychoanalyst to find out about yourself, but that is not self knowledge. Self-knowledge comes into being when we are aware of ourselves in relationship, which shows what we are from moment to moment.

On Meditation
3 - 5 April, 2026
Meditation is the free, sceptical inquiry into the whole field of knowledge, which is our consciousness. To inquire freely, you must have doubt. Doubt is an extraordinary factor that cleanses the mind - to doubt your guru, to doubt the tradition, to question your relationship, never accepting any psychological authority. Doubt gives freedom. One must know the art of the movement of doubt, when to let it go and when to hold it back.
Our Retreats
The purpose of these organized Retreats is to explore fundamental problems of our daily life in the light of J. Krishnamurti’s teachings. The intention is to create an ambience that would enable the participants to enter into a spirit of serious inquiry. The daily schedule includes: watching of J. Krishnamurti’s video talks on a particular theme followed by group inquiry or dialogue sessions, study of a text, silent sittings, walks in nature and sometimes introductory talks by a speaker. The programme is designed in such a way that there is space to be quiet, to be with nature, to gather the energy necessary to observe, reflect on the theme and share our observations.
Our Retreats
You are most welcome to 3 -day Residential Retreats are held regularly here. The four-day program consists of video-screenings of Krishnamurti’s talks and discussions, formal dialogues around a theme, informal conversations, time for study and reflection. It formally will end by lunchtime on Sunday
The intention of this retreat is to be a retreat in the deepest sense. It is rare that we have the opportunity to share a space in silence together; to gather together with the intention of minimizing the external distractions of the world to come in touch with the quiet space of our being.
Most visitors staying at The Krishnamurti Center have their own retreats. Individuals can decide how best to organize their time at the Center, using facilities such as the library and quiet room, watching their chosen videos on a device or one of the screens set up for this purpose, listening to audio recordings, and walking in the lake and village side.
We invite you to an 8-day of quiet exploration and deep inquiry into the nature of self knowledge and Meditation. This retreat is for those who wish to look deeply into their own minds, to see clearly the workings of thought, fear, and desire, and to understand the limitations of knowledge.
The vitality of the retreat, and its momentum throughout the 2 week, rely on the sincerity, care, and responsibility of each of the participants as they live and work together. The intention of the retreat is above all, to allow for open exploration of all aspects of one’s life, with the ongoing potential of gaining insight into the nature of life, the world, and the activity of human relationships.
Dialogue inquiry, complemented by a hand-picked selection of Krishnamurti audio, video and texts, form the basis of our group events. Full attention can be given to aspects of the teachings and their implications in one’s own life.
